We move beyond traditional “fault-spotting” to develop a driver who can coach themselves. Instead of simply telling you what went wrong, we train you to analyse your driving. By identifying the root cause of an action, whether it was a lapse in observation, a loss of composure, or a gap in planning, you learn to self-evaluate and correct. Taking you from “being told” to “self-identifying” ensures you don’t just stop making mistakes for the test; you become a driver who continues to evolve.
Advanced Driving Techniques
Our founder, Joseph, is an IAM Advanced Driver and an IMI-qualified Observer. While most instructors focus only on the DVSA syllabus, Joseph’s teaching is informed by the advanced “System of Car Control” used by the UK’s leading road safety experts. By attending regular courses on modern coaching and teaching methods, he ensures that the Unlock Driving approach remains at the forefront of road safety and effective learning.

Normal open hours are from 9am to 6pm Tuesday to Friday, Sundays and Bank Holidays are limited availability with a surcharge of £10 per hour.

I offer both automatic and manual driving lessons. Book by the hour and learn at a pace that suits you.

Buy multiple lessons in advance and save money. A great option if you want regular lessons and steady progress.

Motorway Experience
Build confidence driving on motorways. Learn how to join and leave safely, use the correct lane, and follow road signs and sat nav directions.

Night Driving Experience
Learn to drive safely at night. Practice using headlights, spotting hazards, and understanding the different risks involved.

Learn how to drive an electric vehicle. You can use your own EV or learn in one of our cars.
